Not sure of the correct scientific name, but we always called them June Bugs. Some older folks around here call the brown ones May Beetles and the green ones (that look like giant Japanese beetles) June Bugs. Either way they drive my parrot crazy bouncing off the screens and buzzing at night... :)

I'd like to ask more about this.

We just had the house exterior sprayed again for carpenter ants. Two days later, I got into the garage and find what looked like a June bug(judging from the photos posted).

Twas HUGE! it was easily an inch long, perhaps an inch and a half long. It was dying, on its back, only moving its legs when I tried to remove it.

I really freaked out(Im a new homeowner, wondering what this beast was doing IN my garage.)

No joke, it was so big, that I went across the street to ask my neighbor if he'd seen anything like it. From his doorstep, across the street, I was able to point out the large black thing in my driveway. he never saw something that big.

So, do thes things come in the hosue often? Also, it looked black, so is it truly a June Bug?
