Nice plan. I would move the Jpanese maple further out though, it could obscure the view of the shrubs in the summer. I am wondering though about using mostly shrubs and just one herb. The false blue indigo would probably by dwarfed by the bushes in no time.

Thanks, and good point re the Japanese maple. I definitely have room to do that. I left most of the smaller plants off the plan but will definitely plant perennials, etc. for the color.

I think I am going to try Styers in PA. The comments about them seem to be pretty good.

Countryside Gardens on route 40 has a wonderful selection too.

Any plans for a crepe Myrtle ??? They have become a must have of mine.

Styers is probably your best bet for a local source. I like Fairweather Gardens in South Jersey for shrubs. They have a great selection of uncommon plants, but they are pricy. Their next open house is 7/2-7/3. Their spring catalog makes great winter reading.
