Subject: [washbutterflies] conservation landscaping conference

Hello, everyone.

I received an email from Bruce Jones who asked me to

spread the word about an upcoming conference on

wildlife habitat. Some of you may remember Bruce as

the gentleman who hosted a butterfly trip for WABC on

his beautiful property out in Rappahannock Co. (Va.)

last year. Below is the text of the email w/ a link

provided. The conference is in early November but

it's never too early to plan ahead.

The conference is being held at Northern Virginia

Community College in Annandale.

improving habitats for wildlife and helping water

quality, too? Visit the CCLC web-site (

for information about the upcoming Conservation

Landscaping conference, an informative venue serving

the mid-Atlantic states. A wide range of topics are

being planned and tentatively may include the

following: raingardens vs. bioretention ponds;

alternatives to traditional plantings and designing

with native plants; IPM and beneficial insects; tree

planting and soils for urban forestry; installing

living shorelines...and much more! Land managers,

designers, local planners, landscapers and others with

a stake in conserving Virginia's natural resources are

encouraged to attend.
