Honeyberries in DC area?

Hi,

I'm considering adding a few honeyberry plants along a back fence. The area gets a few hours of sun a day in the Spring and Fall, but only dappled sun really during the summer when the sun is higher. Based on what I've read, honeyberries in a warmer zone might actually like it shadier, so I'm hoping this might work out. At the worst case, as long as they survive and look good as plants, I wouldn't be too disappointed if they didn't produce many berries without more sun.

So I was wondering if anyone has had good luck with honeyberries in zone 7 and if so, what varieties have worked. It would of course be even better if someone has been growing them in more shade...

The other plant I was considering was Nanking Cherry bushes, since I had seen some reports of them doing okay in warmer zones with some shade as well.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Walter
