Mid-Atlantic Gardening

ID help please

I was at a friends house today. He has a plant that to all appearances is a Brugmansia. The flowers are white, flute shaped and not pendulous. Small flower maybe 3 inches long. Seed pods oval and spiny. I should know this plant. Thanks Steve in Baltimore County

There is a datura that is a weed with prickly seed cases. I think it's also called locoweed or jimson weed. Grows too easily and aggressively. Also some daturas are used as regular garden annuals with upright white or purple tinged trumpet shaped flowers. Quite nice and, I think, fragrant.
