Hi,

I am trying to figure out where to plant a threadleaf fullmoon maple (Acer japonicum 'Aconitifolium', to be precise) and was wondering whether anyone else in the Maryland suburbs of DC (we live in Silver Spring) has had experience with this lovely small tree. Generally the palmatum varieties of Japanese maple do fine in my yard, but this is a different species. Some articles say don't plant in full sun in the South, but we aren't really the South..... Anyway, your advice is most appreciated!
