Fall potatoes

I just wanted to let you all know I had recent luck with a fall crop of early season potatoes in Frederick MD.

After harvest in June, I left a number of tiny potatoes in the garden, too small to harvest, Yukon Gold to be exact, early September we had a fair amount of tropical rain. I got about 8 plants that sprouted in the garden around September 6th. Liberal use of row covers and a first frost mid October, this past weekend I harvested 10-12 pounds of small/mid sized potatoes from the garden. Not bad for early November.

conclusion, that it is possible to harvest 2 crops of potatoes in a single growing season.
