GARDENING GUIDESHow to Avoid Overcrowded, Overpruned Shrubs
Go for a more natural look that’s easier and less expensive to maintain by giving your plants the right amount of growing room
Full StoryMy hanging pot of Bougie was out on my patio all summer and bloomed beautifully. To my surprise, as the weather got colder in middle October, i bring in my plants to a south exposure window...its now been indoors for 2 weeks and none of the leaves dropped as they usually do when changing the environment from 5-6 hours of direct sun on the patio, to maybe a couple of hours or even less indoors. Isn't this unusual? I don't know how to treat it? One book says that after blooming it would be a good idea to prune the branches to the second node. I am hesitant in doing this, fearing it may really do harm to my plant.
