| Hello,
Does anyone have a mature Sweetbay Magnolia (Magnolia Virginiania) growing in NOVA, Zone 7A? If so, is it evergreen here and how tall is it? All reports state the evergreen-ness (not a word, I know) and the height vary with the hardiness zone. Thank you. Mia |

| Both questions depend on the particular cultivar of M. virginiana that you have. The cultivar 'australis' is supposedly taller and evergreen and cultivars more common in the North are shorter and deciduous or semi-evergreen. I guess this species is as genetically diverse as M. grandiflora, which has dozens of cultivars and varying size proportions. |
