Finally monarch cats two days ago

I hope they manage with the predation. I also worry about enough food for the 5 or 6 I see. My milkweed is single stem and was only planted this spring. I know this late in the year, the plant won't really mind the loss of foliage, but I may have to find the cats another meal as they grow. I found a couple straggling A. viridiflora about 1/4 mile from the tuberosa I planted, so I have an emergency buffet if I have to move them.

I wondered all year if I'd even see a Monarch and only in late August when migration started, have I now seen two here (or one twice on different days). Luckily a female left me something to remember her by.
