I've ordered for years and never seen that. However I make it a rule not to order from Gurney's. Go to Dave's Garden, The Garden Watchdog and check out the reviews for Gurney's.

Ahh that's so sad, growing up in SD my parents ordered from Gurney's all the time with great results but that was before, when the company was family owned. They did have an excellent reputation back then. Jackie

Not doubting what you saw at all, herbtester, but since spidermites are usually way smaller than a pinhead, I don't think it was spidermite eggs you were looking at. I'll wager it was some other kind of nasty insect eggs.

Are you really going to try Peanuts in Mn?? I did that about 35 years ago and realized why they're not a cash crop up here. Stick to Sweet corn, you'll be a lot happier!

I always like trying new items, so I figured I'd give the peanuts a try. I've only lived in MN about 4 1/2 years now so I'm still figuring out what I can grow up here, but I'll take your advice and keep the corn this year also!

I applaud you for trying unique stuff. Gurneys has been good for me with the occasional mess up...They should replace with no issue.

My mother, during the depression days, always ordered some exotic seeds.....at least for mid-Minnesota, they were exotic. I know she tried peanuts, which of course, didn't do anything, but this was her joy, and she needed that!

Back in the 70's when I was a teenager we moved into a house that had peanuts growing along one wall. My mom was thrilled! We lived there about seven years and always had them. I don't recall if she had to replant them every year or if they just came up. I wasn't into gardening back then.
