| I'd like to start some lotus for eating, and am totally clueless. Should I start from seed or try and track down the tubers? So many of the seeds I've seen online look very sketchy, any recommended sellers? Any sellers within the state? What's a good variety for Minnesota? And if I'm growing them for eating, would I be better off putting them in containers, or in my natural pond (approximately 40'x20'x5')? And lastly, what miscellaneous wisdom do you have to share, O Lotus Grower? |

| The Asian lotus species are not winter hardy in Minnesota. There is a native MN species, Nelumbo lutea, but I am not sure how palatable it might be, or if it is even edible(?). |
