You could do that, but you run the risk of having to bring them all inside at night if we hit a cold stretch before plant-out time (and we almost always do) or even to have to bring them inside for several days and rig up lights to keep them happy. For lights, plan on 4' fluorescents, cool white bulbs are fine, mounted so the tops of the plants are 2-3" maximum from the bulbs. You'll have to mount multiple units next to each other, most likely to fully cover the plants.

You could also look at getting or building a small cold frame (with ventilation) or one of those cheap greenhouse shelving units. The challenge there is moderating the heat so you don't cook the plants during warm stretches like this. Good luck!

Here's an idea? Get a thermometer that has leads and gives indoor and outdoor temps. I have a couple of these and monitor my back porch temps. And a terrarium inside.
Create an area in the garage and hang plastic to section it off (later maybe build a temp wall that can be stored and reused next year). Hang a shop lite fixture or two and hang these above trays and if left on all night they will provide heat also. Even a sun lamp or something similar like a spot (yard lite) lite fixture not close to the plants will provide heat depending on the size of your 'hot house' area. Experiment and good luck.
