Which part of the metro area...it's a big area. I am in Ramsey, north of Anoka, and I love Green Valley Greenhouse for house plants. They have a huge houseplant business and they do beautiful seasonal plants as well (poinsettias, easter lilies, mums etc...) In fact I was just there today buying some fresh plants for the house (spring cleaning did away with a few) Helen.

It is a good hike from the southwest, you can probably find something good in your area too. GV is a fun trip, but I am not sure about the variety in the small sizes you are interested in.
