That's great! Whooping cranes did almost go extinct a few years back, it's good to know that they're coming back.

I was lucky enough to see a pair in a field near my friend's house the other morning, but I didn't know that you could alert the DNR....I'll have to do that if I see them again. (But I'm probably not lucky enough)

Pretty cool siting! There aren't very many of them world wide, from what I've just been reading.

I saw a dead wild turkey in the middle of 65 (about two blocks from downtown minneapolis) earlier this week. A friend saw a pea hen(??) on the loose in minneapolis a couple of days ago as well. So you are not alone in the rare/odd animal sightings this week!

That snowshoe hare made itself visible in our yard the other night. Not terribly thrilling by comparison, but interesting none-the-less right here on Larpenter Ave.
