Looks like the common, invasive ox-eye daisy (Chrysanthemum Leucanthemum). Flowers are white though. I've seen this basal rosetted plant all over - even cropping up in potted plants you buy from a nursery. I get a few every year which I attack with a vengeance.

I have that and it has white flowers and I don't think I will ever truly get rid of them.

chemical wise, glyphosate (Round up) would do the trick best. Weed B gon should work if it is in the grass. Wait another 3 weeks and the chemicals will work better.

I actually like the flowers- and let it go in the more wild back portions of my garden. Its a common field daisy. I find that it is quite easy to get rid of- the roots stay fairly clumped and it pulls out of the ground quite easily.

I think I remember reading that it's on the invasive species list. Can anyone verify one way or the other? We have them in a bed that our garden club maintains and I have been digging and pulling ruthlessly. We have been slowly winning the battle.

I think they are on the invasive species list. I put the MN DNR link below. They are beautiful growing out in the wooded areas though. Of course, so is purple loosestrife but I don't want it anywhere near my property!

I have transplanted a few to my cabin and then I just dig them out. Vinegar works well to kill them if they aren't close to outer plants. I don't use any chemicals in my garden.
