Japanese Knotweed Replacement

Hi All,

My neighbors have some Japanese Knotweed that they are using as privacy vegetation. We've recently moved in and I am sick of trying to keep it out my yard, after doing some research I've discovered what most of you probably already know, that it is a highly invasive plant that should be immediately destroyed before it overtakes our entire "wild area" between our houses. Since the knotweed is technically on their property I'd like to have some replacement options to talk about when approaching them w/ my desire to remove the knotweed. Any thoughts on what a good fast growing privacy plant might be, I know they like the fact that the knotweed is a perennial and grows quickly back each year. I'm also sure that they'll want something more interesting than a boring evergeen shrub. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

-Jeff
