and while I was doing it i noticed all kinds of little volunteers that have already started. Nicotiana langsdorfii, shirley poppies and kiss me over the garden gate to name a few.

I wasn't sure about some so I looked up seedling identification on google images (along with the name of whatever plant i was wondering about) and found some good pictures of seedlings. it was helpful to figure out what some little drifts of seedlings were that I could only guess at. I love spring (and the internet)

I also put in dahlia tubers and elephant ear bulbs.

I have another question I may post seperately but we had an easter egg hunt here at our house and some plants got a little trample (tragic, they were told that if they went in the gardens they would get an egg confiscated but it didn't work all that well with half a dozen kids under 5) anyway a couple hostas that were trying to come up got broken off. will they recover?
