Looking to buy burgundy peony

Hi,

A coworker of mine has the most amazing peony plant ... unfortunately, she's not interested in splitting it. It produces magnificent very large, dark burgundy, very ruffley, amazing flowers. I have been unable to find something similar at local nurseries. If you have some and would be willing to sell some, please email me (with a picture of the flowers)

I don't actually have this plant, but in looking at my Klehm's Song Sparrow catalog, they have a double peony by the name of 'Falcon' that is a bold mahogany red. Their website is songsparrow.com. It might be the plant that you are looking for.

Lynne, I'm with Chris on this one. Song Sparrow has a lot of really gorgeous peonies. You would have to wait until fall though, as I believe they only ship bare root in the fall for their peonies.

Thanks for the advice and the website!
I went to songsparrow.com and can't find a peony called falcon. I went there and clicked on 'peonies' and looked through the list. Can you help me? I'd really love to see it!

Lynne - I am not sure where you are located in Minnesota. If you are anywhere near Monticello, I do have a burgundy peony that needs splitting. You are more than welcome to it when it is finished blooming in another couple of weeks. Just let me know. Aren't peonies beautiful? One of my favorites :)

The Minnesota Peony Society has a peony auction in Sept and you do NOT have to be a member to buy plants at the auction:

I forgot, but you may also want to check out Swenson Peonies near Delano/ Howard Lake. I think I remember reading that they've been in the process of moving to Howard Lake. You can google them and go to their website.
