Threadleaf Arborvitae

Anyone grow this around here? Thuja occidentalis 'Filiformis' Pics I've seen of it look great and it's supposedly hardy in zone 4. But I'm a little gunshy after my experience with the arctic blue willow standard I tried last year (nothing above graft, lusty growth below). GaryStPaul

RE: Threadleaf Arborvitae

Is the one you're looking at grafted on a standard also? It would depend on what it was grafted on to.

I have had mine since 2004 (not grafted), growing in full sun without any problems. Certainly more hardy than the threadleaf forms of Chamaecyparis(and they are hardy here too), although Filiformis not very graceful.
