purple chinese astilbe

Hi there,

I received a bag of chinese astilbe from a co-worker today. I'm having a hard time finding decent information on soil (moist vs. dry) or sun exposure on this particular plant. I want to make this one work as I have not had much luck with astilbe...

From what I know, all Astilbe like moist soil but Chinese can take more dry than the normal. They do not need full sun.

Moist with afternoon shade works best for me. Even so, mine still burn a little if the summer is too dry, but I have sandy soil.
