Allium from seed

Does anyone know how long it takes for Allium to bloom from seed? I have a number of babies from last year growing in my beds, and am thinking about moving them. But if I am gonna have a bare spot for a number of years, maybe I would be better off putting them into pots for a while. And planting annuals in the spot.

Depends. What kind of allium?

My experience with allium is that same as most other perennials: first year sleep, second year creep, third year leap. Plants grown from seed count as the first year. So, basically, not much happens until the third year.

I'm not sure which allium I've got, but it's periwinkle blue and native.
