I put a fence around mine from about Nov-Apr. They don't seem to touch them the rest of the time. Enough other stuff to eat I guess.

One word: MILORGANITE

It is a pelletized fertilizer that is safe on plants and food crops, grass and hostas. I have been using it for years. You can get a big bag at a garden store for around $10. Sprinkle it around any plant that is bothered by deer or rabbits. I sprinkle it everywhere. It dissolves into the soil a little bit with each rainfall or watering. Won't burn plants. Golf courses use it. Amazing stuff.

It's true that the rabbits chew the azaleas only between November and April. For most of that time there is snow on the ground so I am wondering if the milorganite would make any difference if it's covered by snow. I might have to go with a fence, but the milorganite would be so much easier.
