Wild Violet Patch

I have an area of the yard completely taken over by wild violets. My DH loves them. I have run out of garden space.

Would it be feasible to plant hostas in the violet patch or will they choke new hostas out?

What about transplants that would be a bit larger?

Would other hosta companions survive there too: astilbe, brunnera, lilularia, coral bells, Jacob's Ladder, bleeding hearts

I think most of those mentioned could probably hold their own with the violets, especially if they are good sized transplants. Don't think I'd put in any mini hostas though.
