| I live in the lakes area of MN near Detroit Lakes. My garden spot will only be ready to plant by June 14th. (Delay in getting soil trucked in for raised beds). Is it too late to plant early maturing melons? If so, what else can I plant?
Full sun, good top soil in raised beds. Also, when do you plant for fall crops? Thoughts? |

| It might be a litte late. I have faced a similar problem, the watermelon and cantelope both were eaten before I could cage them and I had to replant them directly from seed last week. They just came up yesterday. With waiting until the middle of June, I would definitely expect very late crop if even that. I did see a website saying planting from seeds after the 1st of may is pointless so we may both be doomed. Good luck. Tina |
