Prickly Pear Pics

Two photos taken June 17 showing blooms on my Opuntia macrorhiza Plains Prickly Pear cactus. These plants are Minnesota natives harvested fifteen years ago, with permission, from private land in the Minnesota River valley near Morton, where they still grow wild. Plains Prickly Pear has been almost eradicated from Minnesota because of its undesirable qualities as related to farming and animal husbandry.
