Blue berries

I received two blue berry bushes from Michigan , I have them in large pots sunk in the garden. If I plant them in the ground I don't think I can keep the soil acidic enough. (full sun) Put some Alum Sulfate on them to make the soil more acidic and also have 40% sand with Iowa soil. Do you think that is enough? I don't want to loose them but.....I don't have a clue as "how" to get blueberries out of them. They are about 14" tall and 8" wide now, and they look pretty good. Leaves are not real dark but darker than when I received them, which was this spring.

Any advice I would appreciate, They are Blue ? How many yrs until I can see blooms?

Thanks
