 o
low growing sedum question....

Can anyone tell me what causes the middle of a clump of low growing sedum to become vacant and unhappy looking? I'm suspecting water (lack of said water....sigh...mea culpa) . I'm thinking of Bertram Anderson. I have seen it in another garden and it looked great. This is the second season for this plant in my gardens.

I'm betting water too. I have several that look like this, all in the dryer areas of the yard.

I think it can also happen as the plant gets older. If you trim it back new growth will fill in the center and you can plant the trimmings for new plants...maybe some for a swap!
