Lily of the NIle

I bought two Lily of the Nile plants last Spring. They were lovely all summer. I know that they will not survive outside in the winter in Zone 3. Has anybody found a way to winter this plant ? Could I grow it in pots in the house?

Good luck. I have one that I got 3 years ago in a swap. It is lush and beautiful all summer long, I bring it in every winter and by spring it looks pretty ratty. I put it outside and it gets lush again, but to this day it has never bloomed.

I am thinking of packing it up and shipping it to my friend in South Carolina!

Linda - mine finally bloomed this spring. Nothing fancy - just a few little bouquets. They need to get very pot bound to do anything and lots of sun. My neighbor is a school teacher and takes hers to the school's greenhouse for the winter. They get absolutely gorgeous blooms from Feb - March!
