What would you plant here?

Hi,

I have a new house and I'm trying to get the foundation landscaping in before winter. We're North of the cities, outside the urban heat bubble in zone 4b. They filled around the foundation with pretty sandy soil, and since I don't want to mess with the drainage, I'm trying to stick with plants that can handle this kind of soil. I'm going for a rock garden kind of feel. In the bed next to what I'm filling, I've got 3 kinds of juniper, some yuccas and sedum.

The spot I need some help filling: the garage juts in front of the house by about 6 feet, creating a corner that is protected from the North and West and exposed to the South and East. The wall of the garage is blank and light colored. I'd like something that can handle the soil I've got, will top out @ 10 feet tall and @ 4 feet wide, has year-round interest, and, ideally, I could buy in a local nursery. The site is borderline full sun to partly shady.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
