I stopped by Mantorville on Sunday morning. I walked around the exhibits and bought a couple of bird feeders made from old barn wood. I didn't see Will at first either, but his wife was sitting at one of the art area exhibits, so I asked if he were around. Turns out he was only in the house on a short break, so he came out and toured me around the garden (which was beautiful, just as it was the last time around). He also sent me off with a couple of his brugmansia cuttings, which I hope to keep growing in the new house this winter, since I have such nice huge east windows there.

I didn't make it around town to check out the marigolds. It's funny that you didn't find many. I seem to remember lots from years past. I wonder what happened this time.

It is strange, isn't it Joyce. Just like when I took my my mother to Hopkin's Raspberry Festival. Raspberries were the main reason we made the trek - and there were no raspberries to be found. When we asked about where we could get raspberries, people looked at us like they didn't understand the question or why we were asking it. We ended up with a very mediocre Raspberry malt from the Dairy Queen. Carmellia
