Weeping Caragana branches curling

ans_garden

Hi, I have an odd problem (I think). I have a 'Walker' Weeping peashrub that I planted last summer whose branches (newest growth) are curling upwards, rather than 'weeping' down. I don't think I can just cut them off, but do I need to somehow train them to grow down? I didn't think I had to do this! I will try to post a picture later.

Another thing I noticed is the leaves on these branches are larger; it is a cutleaf peashrub whose leaves are normally quite small. Is there a problem with the graft? Thanks for any help.
