I have this pear tree that produces beautiful large juciy fruit every fall. It's been over 30 years now but I still guess every fall about when to pick.Does anyone have a tip or secret of how to be sure when.I'm not a kid anymore but haven't learned this.

Thanks,
Nada

All I can say is pears are one of the few fruits you should pick green. Maybe when you see the bees checking them out?

Rick's right; pick 'em before they're ripe. A search at www.extension.umn.edu should give you approximate dates.
