Looks like a variety of Basil

Another photo. I am sorry, I did not give following details. This is in Minneapolis, MN and is in landscape bed, grew to this size during summer. I assume this is a perennial.

Looks like some type of Salvia that's done blooming..

The plant looks familiar but I can't come up with the name. It reminds me of a kind of monarda.

I suggest you post your photos on the name the plant forum as that forum will give you more responses.

Thai Basil - That is my guess. I grow it myself every year. Good stuff. If growing for kitchen use one would normally pinch blooms but if you let some of the blooms go, or grow as an ornamental, you can save seed for next year. Basils cross pollinate easily so make sure plant is isolated from other basils if you plan on saving seed.

I agree with Basil too. I never had any luck wintering that over either in MN or in MI. But, you can easily start it every spring. It grows fast, produces well, and smells and tastes delicious!

Those Thai Basil flowers dry well and look/smell wonderful in dried arrangements!

Too late for this batch, but good to keep in mind for next season!
