organic soil

Hello, I have another newbie question that I am hoping to get some guidance on.

We planted some tomatoes and peppers in large pots using organic soil from a nursery store this spring. I assume these plants are annuals (won't survive winter and re-live next year). After they die, what should we do with the organic soil? Can we just keep the pots outside as they are, have them get covered in snow through the winter, and when the thaw and spring comes, reuse them and the soil to plant something else? Or should we bring the pots with dirt inside over the winter? If we keep them outside, anything we should do before re-using the soil in the spring?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!
