Overwinter rosemary?

| Hello! A couple of weeks ago I dug up my rosemary, potted it and brought it in the house....thinking I'd be able to enjoy the scent all winter long. It still smells great but it looks like it is thinking about hibernating (getting a little droopy).
I'm wondering if instead of trying to keep it going indoors I should put it in the garage and let it go dormant and then put it outside in the spring?
Thanks for any suggestions!

Kristy, I bring rosemary inside the house for the winter and grow it in an attached, south-facing greenhouse/solarium. They're pretty sturdy plants, shrubs really, not bothered by dry or cool air. I think you could get them through if grown in a sunny window. Mine do well if the surface is allowed to dry out between waterings, but don't let them get too dry or the plant is toast. Gary

You should be able to winter over your Rosemary, but one word of caution. During the Christmas holidays don't put it anywhere near a Poinsettia, as the two do not like each other. I was wintering my Rosemary last year and it was looking great. (Just be sure to keep it watered well and it shouldn't droop) However, when it got close to the Poinsettia, it got all moldy. I was later told by a herb specialist that the two plants just don't work well together. I have no idea why, but I plan to keep the two far far apart this season!

I have never had any luck overwintering rosemary indoors. It does wel for a couple of months and then dries up, even tho I water it well. I brought mine in again this year, tho. Just have to try! LOL Linda

Thanks for the input! The rosemary has been droopy the past few days. Our leaves haven't fallen from the trees to our south so we're not getting much sunlight in the house lately (on the few days we've gotten sun). I'm not giving up hope! Thanks again! Kristy :)
