Fall is upon us!
Is it to late to transplant a bunch of Iris? or should I wait till spring?

KARE 11's garden spot tonight was about planting iris now. It is a bit late but probably can still be done. I wouldn't transplant in the spring as they would be forming buds for late May/June bloom. Would wait until next fall.

If they are bearded iris, it is too late. But if you have no choice, I would certainly give it a try. Bearded iris kinda have it preprogrammed when they are to grow roots, and this is not one of those times.

Other types of iris are usually still okay to transplant, except Iris cristata.
