Growing Brugmansia in Zone 4B

I am moving to Mitchell, South Dakota (Zone4B) from Louisville, Kentucky. How do you get them to bloom all summer? Even here in Zone 6B, they wait until late September/October and just when they are at the peak of bloom, they get hit by frost. The plants look great and I keep them in full sun, but I am doing something wrong. I have no trouble keeping them in the basement all winter.

My brugs do not bloom all summer. Some have flushes on and off over the summer while others wait until the cool fall to bloom.
