bats

the moon was out so I suppose that qualifies for the photos I'm attaching:

Three weeks ago a dozen or so australian fruit bats moved into a nature reserve across the creek from us.

A couple of days ago the local newspaper reported there were a few thousand now roosting there (see link)

Tonight I took some photos - a bit dark and blurred because they move so qick, but you should get an idea of the numbers that flew over. It now takes about half an hour for the flock to fly over our house and the same amount will return about 4am.

Hope you like the pictures

Very cool!! Only when I see bats flying around I'm a little disappointed because they come out of my ATTIC! Fortunately I don't have that many though. They're nice if they're somewhere else, your photos are great.

RE: bats

Very, very cool!! We have bats on the island but not as many as when I was a kid. Soon you'll be like the bat cave in Austin, you'll attract a bunch of tourists, turn the house into a B & B, sell bat guano...
I'm sooo jealous!
Tally HO!
