Do moonflowers (ipomea) self seed as readily as morning glories?

Well, I can see that this forum doesn't move very fast.

No, they are not as pesky as morning glories. I can't even get the dang things to bloom sometimes after nicking the seeds, soaking in warm water, and sowing in May in So Cal. Sometimes they don't get going until November!

Mine must have been something else as the seeds were small and they sprouted by themselves. I just got to enjoy my first bloom. The leaves are not jagged like I see in pictures but everything else looks the same. I have a couple vines getting ready to bloom soon. When I looked them up they say if it is not too cool in the winter they can develop tubers I will wait and see.
Thanks for all the info
Paul
