Moonflower seeds

I have seeds that I got from my mom and I think they are moonflowers. I don't think it came from a vine, but more of a bush about 3 - 4 feet tall. I think the seeds came out of a prickly shell and they look like green pepper seeds. Are these moonflowers? Thanks Tammy

Those sound like Datura. They open at night, so they are called Moon Flowers (also Devil's Trumpet and Angel's Trumpet). There is a vine that is in the Morning Glory family, and those are called Moon Flowers. See where it gets confusing? LOL! That's why it is always best to find out the scientific name when trading. Too many plants share the same common name. All of them go great in a Moon Garden, though!

The same thing happened to me! I was looking for *vining* moonflower (ipomea), but I didn't specify this, so someone traded me *bush* moonflower (datura). I'm really glad, though, because I've been meaning to try datura from seed, and it's such a gorgeous plant.

Moonflower vine white morning glory has seeds about big as pees 1/4 inch and oval

Datura has seeds shaped like green pepper seeds that can be a tan to black in color.
