Moon Bush Seeds

Hi! WOW, spring is coming on fast in Oklahoma! I am ready to plant, however I am not sure it is a good time for it.. My question.. Is it tooo early to plant moonbush and moonvine seeds in Oklahoma?

This will be my first year for the bush, and I had great (late) success for my vines (my entire family fell in love with them).

Maybe I have cabin fever and want to get my hands dirty. . . hehehe.. :)

Thanks for any help..

What is a moon bush???

Alianna, I think it may be a bit early, but you could always start some seeds in a container, then move them later. That way you may not waste growth time and also you could get some dirt under your nails.

I cast, literally, thousands of seeds over the ground late last fall. I am eager to see how many plants mature. If only a portion survive, it should be the largest Moonflower display in my neck of the woods.

RE: Moon Bush = Datura

wenders67, a moon bush is "Datura". Look for it on eBay. The pictures are beautiful there. As someone said to me, the vine is not really moonflower even tho it has become accepted by that name. It was explained to me, it is a Morning Glory in reverse. I forget its real name. I tried it but, I, personally did not like it. Many people do, tho.

The Moonflower bush (Datura) is beautiful and so easy to grow with just minimal care. This season, I intend to plant other colors, but the white is my all time favorite. eBay is a great place to get Datura (bush), if you don't have another source.

So SODBUSTER I am curious how your seeds did that were scattered on the ground last fall. Did they bloom well?
