What IS a moon garden?

Hi, I have heard of moon gardens but never knew exactly what one is.

I have what I call a fairy garden, meant for meditation, and we see white lights flitting around it. They mostly like the "wild" area of the garden full of rhodies and vinca major, not the cultivated part.

Is a moon garden mostly white plants? Plants that bloom and smell at night? and what is the purpose? Is it spiritual?
