 o
optimal # of moon flowers per container ?

it's my first time & i've starting moon and mg pastel seeds indoors. in 2 weeks i'll be able to plant outside w/o fear of frost (zone 5). my seedlings are already 3 inches high (thrills my daughter). i want to transplant the plants in a belly pot at the base of my pergola so it vines up and gives me nice coverage. but i don't know how many plants i should plant in each planter! the belly pots are about 16 inches across at the mouth and 24 inches high. how many can i plant in each pot to maximize coverage/foliage and not choke off the vines and the base. btw how deep do the roots get and is there a chance that the plants will outgrow the planter?

I put 3 moonvines per 5 gal container. Really you should put about 2 but if you keep them well watered you can keep 3. I place the container against an arbor or fence and let them climb. You can also make a bamboo tepee for them to climb.
