Moonflower as ground cover???

I am trying the moonflowers for the first time. I know it is a vine but can it be used like a groundcover? I have one of my Clematis that I grew in a container an it just sprawls on the ground. Will the Moonflower do the same?

I am not a very experienced gardner, but I do know about Moonflowers. They are, at least in Connecticut, a BIG vine and the plants take up a lot of room. I didn't plant them to grow up up anythinglike a trellis, and they did cover the ground, but they don't lie low because they're so big, at least a couple of feet tall.

They are a huge plant, the ones I've seen, and they do cover a good bit of the ground.
