| I've decided to turn my recent Systemic Lupus diagnosis into an opportunity rather than a regret. I'm now officially allergic to sunlight! (A sigh, as I look at out my windows, and the garden whose persistent call I am forcing myself to not answer...)
If life gives you lemons, make lemon-infused poundcake and serve with mint tea, right? SO --- moon garden time!
I invite and welcome your suggestions for easy-to-grow, low mainentance moon garden plants, with an eye to what might survive in Zone 10.
Thanks! Here's to the moon... |

| Jasmines! You are in a good warm zone so you have a chance for lots of fragrant lovelies. Check out the Fragrant Plants forum for some ideas! My star jasmine is a wonderful companion on a summer's night. |

| I love your wisdom and your very healthy attitude. I think that white plumbago might be great in your zone, and it only needs sun and water, also white petunias (is it the Wave variety that can take the heat? can't remember, but a nursery should know). Dusty Miller looks great at night and surely knows how to take care of itself. I like Cypress Gardens brugmansia because it really blooms alot and gives the most blooms at one time of any of my brugmansias. It does require fertilizing fairly often, so that might be too much. Wish you could find a Blue River #2 Improved hibiscus (mallow type). When they bloom it always takes my breath away. If a flower could represent the moon, that would be the one. You already know this, but I have always found it to be true---What you focus on expands. Your focusing on lemonade shows you are on the right path. Best of luck with your planting. Whisper to your plants to help you out and they will. |

Hugs and good luck to you! I have several postings on moon lore from a book by Lori Reid. It has great stuff on things for a moon garden. I wish you the best, and I agree with the others that you have a terrific attitude! My prayers are with you. |

| Hmmm...I agree jasmines would be perfect! Also perhaps some of the gingers, like maybe a white heliconia. As for silvery foliage, artemesias are great, and so is the silver-foliage santolina. Venidium "Zulu Prince" has gorgeous white blooms, with a black and orange center, hmmm...there's a new dichondra with silver leaves that is just beautiful in hanging baskets, that would be nice as well. White or Black Knight butterfly bushes are good choices also. White Four o'Clocks, maybe? Zaluzianskya capensis has a fantastic scent, with mostly white (striped with dark burgundy) blossoms. Those are my favorites...I like my moon garden plants so much I named my soap company after it! HTH, Celene |

| As to the Zulu Prince for a Moon Garden...spectacular during the day but they close their petals at night...atleast in the seattle area. |
