what not?

LOve the lists of things people like. After some disapointing tries with glowing whites, I'm interested in hearing about the ones that didn't work. I'm more into "glowers" rather than sents. Can't handle heavy smellers.
What didn't work for me: white butterfly bush and crape mertyle, maybe because their texture wasn't reflective and the fading blooms look so nasty. Thought hardy hibiscus Diana would be wonderful but first drove by the nursery and some planted ones. They must close up two early.
What about shrubs? Have a "Summer snowflake" thats an allseason rebloomer. Looks like a lot of snow flakes (not globs) sprinkled over it.

RE: what not?

Someone sent me some white begonia cuttings. They just don't look right in the moon garden so I moved them to the traditional beds. On the plus side, I have some white impatiens balsam that really look great.

There are some cool white alliums out there that look like martians from outer space at dusk. I have one short and one tall. Does anyone know the names? We should definitely try and find out - it's like patio lights at night. neato effect.
