My First Moonflower Blossom - pic

This is the first seed I sowed this past spring, once the seedlings came up, I planted them in an 8" container on my 2nd floor balcony deck, have not fertilized and water it as needed. Yesterday I noticed my first blossom starting to unfold and by yesterday evening it had completely bloomed. I have lots of buds on my vines and I'm really looking forward to a spectacular show as time goes on. This flower is much larger then I expected and the fragrance is wonderful.

Here is a link that might be useful: Moonflower

That is beautiful! I was just about to post mine when I saw your message. This is the first year I have planted them, and they are just gorgeous. I also planted mine in a container and they are budding like crazy! You can see a few in the background.

Hopefully my pic. shows up!

Very lovely! They really are stunning, aren't they? Is your fragrant too? I've read some posts where people were disapointed because there was no fragrance from thier flower. Were you as suprised as me at how big they are? I was so disapointed to go home after work yesterday and find it completely folded up, wish they lasted longer than one day!

I was very pleased w/ the scent. It is very light and refreshing. I can't wait until several of mine are blooming at once! They are just gorgeous. I was not expecting the flowers to be as large as they are, especially coming from those tiny little buds!

GORGEOUS! Linda, your's is so *shiny*. I hope mine bloom. I saw today what may be tiny buds but it's hard to tell. If I don't have any blooms I'll cry a river.

How would you describe the fragrance? I'm one of the unlucky ones who grew a scentless moonflower (although it was pretty).
