| Probably the blind leading the blind here, but I'll share with you what I've read and what I plan to do with my own first-time moonflowers. The flowers are only open for one night at a time. To keep them blooming, deadhead the spent blooms. I plan to deadhead mine regularly until late in the season, when I'll let them remain on the vine and go to seed. Then, with the seed... I'll let some fall for self-seeding and gather some to plant next year. (Or, in my case, to give the new owners when I sell my home this year.) I set out 10" plants July 14 and they are *jussst* starting to form tiny flowers. I'm so excited! |
