Moon Flowers

I have only had my moon flower this year and I am just now getting blooms. They are BEAUTIFUL. Do they only bloom a short time and fall off. Will I be able to get seeds from my plant at the end of season? I will plant more of these next year. They are wonderful. Only thing I only have one bloom at a time. I bet a vine with more blooms on it is breath taking.
Anyone with any extra advice and tips on growing this vine, please let me know. Thanks

RE: Moon Flowers

Probably the blind leading the blind here, but I'll share with you what I've read and what I plan to do with my own first-time moonflowers.

The flowers are only open for one night at a time. To keep them blooming, deadhead the spent blooms. I plan to deadhead mine regularly until late in the season, when I'll let them remain on the vine and go to seed. Then, with the seed... I'll let some fall for self-seeding and gather some to plant next year. (Or, in my case, to give the new owners when I sell my home this year.)

I set out 10" plants July 14 and they are *jussst* starting to form tiny flowers. I'm so excited!

Thanks for the info, but when they bloom , then they close and fall off. Where will my seeds come from?
