Amber, Every calender month has one full moon,(rarely two- the second would be called a blue moon) August's full moon is called Sturgeon Moon,folk lore and tradition says it's the easiest day of the year to catch migrating Sturgeon in rivers.I never caught a sturgeon so I can't comment on it's validity. Full moons are good days to plant seeds and do other various gardening chores,the moon has a pull on the water table much like it has an effect on the oceans with tides ect.. hope this helps a little |
